Why We Stayed Small On Purpose

Little Coconut started in 2017 with a small crew and now brings together an experienced team with a shared commitment to thoughtful design, quality construction, and personal service in the pool construction industry. We take the time to understand your vision, keep you informed, and support you through every phase of the pool build process- from the first conversation to your first swim.

Today we are still a family-run Sarasota builder, and each year we still take on only as many pools as we can run well. That is deliberate. Staying small lets us give every project one manager from the first drawing to the last inspection. It lets us check every phase on site before the next one begins. And it means your project manager walks your jobsite and gives you personal service the whole way through.

We design and build custom pools, spas, and outdoor living spaces across Sarasota and Manatee counties, and transform existing pools through thoughtfully planned rennovations.

Manages each build from start to finish. Works hands-on in the field operating machinery on site, so the plan on paper becomes the pool in your yard.

Dave brings each design to life in the field overseeing all construction teams, details and quality while ensuring every inspection is passed.

An award-winning pool designer, Sherri will guide you from the first meeting through construction to your first swim. She takes the time to source materials that give every pool its own special and custom Coconut Time.

Claudia Madruga Pool Designer

Claudia is a Spanish-speaking pool designer. She knows your backyard is where your family spends its best time together. She guides you through design and permitting, so the 3D model you approve is the pool our crew builds.

Brandon Mefford Pool Designer

Brandon has been through the design process as a pool buyer himself, so he knows the questions you will have. He walks your yard with you, shapes your ideas into a 3D design, and stays with you through construction.

Why a custom builder instead of a high-volume one?

Many large builders run lots of projects at once, with supervisors who rotate between jobs. We build a limited number of pools each year intentionally. Each build has one hands-on project manager who is on site at every phase, so one person is accountable for your pool from the first dig until you swim.

Who owns the company?

Heather Avant is the Owner and President of Little Coconut Pools. She oversees the business and works with every team member to ensure a smooth building process.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. Florida licensed, fully insured, and every project is permitted and inspected.

How do you keep a project accountable from design to completion?

Your pool designer works with you through design and permitting. Then you will be assigned a project manager who takes over and runs your build or remodel. You can reach your designer, your project manager and owner, Heather, at any stage. Our team communicates daily to ensure a smooth building experience.
